Q80041708 - When I connect the ARC-8050T3-12 to my iMac I get a kernel panic that says thunderbolt family. Previously this machine had a ARC-8050T2 attached which worked fine.

The macOS supports TB3 devices since macOS Sierra (version 10.12). Your iMac OS must be 10.12 or later to be able to use TB3 devices.
