It is normal that these new drivers with thunderbolt products support will list volumes as a removable device in system tray. Mark volumes as removable in system tray have no side effect, after all volumes are removable. The only difference between older version and new version is older version can remove volumes in device manager only but new version can remove volumes in device manager and system tray both.
Tags: driver, ThunderboltQ10031302 - After installing driver version 6.20.0.25 on Windows 8 Pro 64bit the RAID volumes provided by my ARC-1220 appear in the Windows "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" tool. It says "Eject Areca-VOL#00 SCSI Disk Device". This did not appear with driver version 6.20.0.22.
