The initialization speed may vary with the throughputs of these drives.This box can power up alone without thunderbolt connection to make it works all the time to avoid the initialization process pause after system down. To force power on/off this box, please disconnect the thunderbolt cable and hold the reset button on the back to power it up/down. The box has to shut it down before connecting this box back to Mac.
