Q10090608 - Wondering when drivers (even Beta) will be available for Windows Vista? I am using a test system with the 1210 as a secondary raid controller and have installed Vista Beta 2 - want to get the Areca raid card working too - but the x64 driver isn't signed.

Answer

Runing the X86-64 drivers on Vista beta 2 platform, there are some issues in the following: 1. Controller BIOS do not implement EFI spec yet, so you may not install Vista 64 bits system on Areca RAID volume. But you can install Vista 64 bits system on Areca RAID volume if this volume had installed old 64bit Window OS before. 2. These driver do not get the Vista signature yet, you may reject from Vista 64 bits system driver install. When the system reboot, you can push F8 key function for using the unsigned driver. The drivers of x86 32 have no these limitation in Vista 32bits Beta2 platform. You can find the Windows 2003 driver in our ftp site: ftp://ftp.areca.com.tw/RaidCards/AP_Drivers/Windows/Driver/
