- Q10010902- I have had the problem with ARC-1221x volume mounting and 10.5.6 upgrade. I have OS (reverted back to 10.5.5) installed on internal drive. I am getting errors when trying to run recommended driver update (132_81223). Tried to install with and without ext RAID connected, also tried to install as 'root' user. We got the following errors. Install File: /System/Library/Extensions/ArcMSR.kext/Contents/MacOS/ArcMSR Status: ERROR
- Q10020902- I deleted RAID and created new with MRAID browser. How can I come back the information which was on old RAID system?
- Q10030902- I need the Windows 2000 Advanced Server driver for the ARC-1222 SAS v1.0 RAID controller.
- Q10040902- Since 1-1-2009 the time setting on the ARC-1222 is confused and not correct. Used all kind of NTP servers, but at the NTP settings it stated that the date is somewhere in 1990. At the event section it says it’s 2022.
- Q10050902- The 1500GB Seagate hard drive (ST31500341AS 1.5TB Disk Firmware Version: SD17) connected to an ARC-1260 seems to have some troubles. We switch off NCQ and read back cache. We can define such a disk as "pass through" in the running system and it works fine. When restarting the system the card creates an endless hang with the message "waiting for the firmware to become ready".
- Q10060902- I have a ARC-1220, in a server running FreeBSD 6.1, but I can not get the HD's temperature using the application cli32, I try to use the http proxy but also did not get the expected result.
- Q10070902- I have ARC-1231 controller. Can you please explain the difference between using disks in JBOD mode and using disks in pass-through mode. I have a feeling that the controller uses it's onboard cache when in pass-through mode. Is this the case?
- Q10080902- I have a ARC-1231ML, and I am writing to ask for your recommendations regarding its use. Is it possible to use this card in conjunction with an external 12 bay chassis? I am hoping to mount the 12 RAID drives outside of the host PC chassis.
- Q10090902- What driver is best to use for testing Windows 7 Beta? All drivers I try to use seem to crash my system.
- Q10010903- I created 5x1TB RAID 5 array w/ 5 Samsung F1 1TB drives. Things worked fine. Then I wanted to add an additional group of Samsung F1 drives to the array but the ARC-1280 firmware 1.43 was having an issue with the newly attached drives and they were showing up as "failed" in the Raid Console (and the ARC-1280 was beeping, driving me crazy).
- Q10020903- I'm new to your line of products and was wondering what the steps are to replace a defective drive into an existing array. I have the ARC-1220 controller and a tried to replace the defective with a new HD but the array did not rebuild on its own. Do I have to do something manually to get it to work?
- Q10030903- I am trying to install server 2008 with the 64 bit driver listed for server 2008 on areca website. The install process will not accept the driver because it is not signed (32 bit Storport driver appears to work). Do you have any suggestions on guidance on getting the 64bit driver to load?
- Q10040903- At system boot the controller shows two arrays of which one has failed and one is successful. This is strange because the ARC-1200 supports only 2 disks and one array with two disks is fine. The web interface only shows one raid set. I only see the second raid set when I boot the system. Also, when entering the RAID Bios with F6, I only see one RAID set. The second RAID set shown at bootup has exactly the same name as the RAID set that I am using now.
- Q10050903- I am using ARC-1680 with MacOS X 10.5.6 and driver version: 1.3.2. The WEB UI is not responding to the password I have set. It shows me some of the interface but repeatedly asks for the password, saying the one I have set is incorrect.
- Q10060903- I am trying to use an ARC-1220 with a Supermicro X7DWN+ motherboard with 32GB of memory running Linux RHEL5.2 .With drives attached to the RAID card, the motherboard BIOS goes through its steps but halts once it reaches the final screen before handing off to the OS. There is no error message. Without any attached drives the system appears to boot normally. However, if during BIOS posting I try and enter the RAID card's BIOS the system will hang at the selection screen.
- Q10070903- When my ARC-1680ix-24 is installed in my Intel DG45ID system, the system does not display anything during boot. I can access the 1680 via the integrated Ethernet port, but the rest of the system is unusable. As soon as the 1680 is removed, the system operates and displays normally.
- Q10010906 - I added a new raidset and volume using the CLI. I had no problems. I issued the command: rsf offline raid=2 Now the raidset no longer appears anywhere in the CLI. There is no "online" command p0. How do I get this raid volume back online without rebooting?
- Q10020906 - From the Ethernet port, we got the initialization percentage 1228.8% on the ARC-1680i RAID set.
- Q10030906 - We have the ARC-1130 SATA RAID adapter with firmware version F/W 1.43. Remove failed HDD and put new HDD as HotSpare HDD (at Ch2), but the port (Ch2) does not respond. Status LED does not light and no Event Log for these actions recorded.
- Q10040906 - I have a problem to update the firmware. My Areca 1220 comes with any BIOS and I can’t update BIOS with DosFlash. When I put nflash xxx.bin the program do not anything.
- Q10050906 - I get a blue screen while installing Windows with the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error message when the Windows installation CD does not include an integrated service pack.
- Q10060906 - Areca PCIe RAID adapter BIOS screen does not post during boot on Intel DG31PR and DG45ID motherboards. Is there a fix?
- Q10070906 - Will the ARC-1280ML work with in a system that is using the Windows Home Server operating system?
- Q10080906 - Are there drivers in VMware ESX 3.5.x for any of the Areca SAS RAID adapters? I run a test VMware ESX instance in my lab, and I would like to buy one of your adapters, but I need to ensure that it will be functional.
- Q10090906 - It is impossible to update bios, firmware, boot for ARC-1200. Did all file flash under the following instruction? nflash arc1200firm.bin/c0 (as tried 1, 2, 3) Always writes: ARC1200FIRM.BIN File Not ExitsQ-
